公元1582年(万历十年)夏天的北京，怪事与奇案叠起。先是大明内库储银不翼而飞，从各地府县运来的大宗税银突然不知去向，国家铸银局的熔银大炉也因无银可铸而被迫停炉；接着便是被送入诏狱的两个江洋大盗神秘越狱，城外一个以做棺材为业的村子在一夜之间被杀戮一空；更可怕的是，一股来路不明的号称“江洋八子”的犯罪集团突然现身大街小巷和王公府邸……。The whole intrigue is centered around carte-blanche documents kept in a vault. Whoever fills in the blank becomes the owner of a revue. Big money is involved. The nephew of the owner of the vault is trying to cheat his uncle and have his name in the documents. Everything is even more complicated because the manager of the bank has a finger in the pie, too. Who but a humble bank...。
