大学时，胖妹程青渺和裴淮聿谈了一场地下恋。因为听到裴聿之说和她在一起是玩玩而已，她果断单方面决绝分手。七年后，程青渺瘦下来，改名倪雾，带着得了心脏病的女儿岁岁去看病，而医生正是裴淮聿，裴淮聿不断在倪雾身上看到程青渺的影子，一步步沦陷。。本片由日本松竹电影公司于1979年拍摄，原著取自埃勒里·奎因的小说《灾难之城/凶镇》，侦探的名字也从埃勒里·奎因更名为罗伯特。 不过情节依然忠实于原著，并获得了当年日本学院奖和电影旬报奖（都是女配角奖，获奖者为小川真由美），该片首映时，丹奈（奎因两兄弟之一）还专程赶到日本出席仪式。In the Fabulous Thirties, Doc Savage and his five Amazing Adventurers are sucked into the mystery of Doc's father disappearing in the wilds of South America.
