Plebs follows three desperate young men from the suburbs...。新婚之夜，新郎卫兵开怀畅饮，新娘秋桃却把自己反锁在屋里，欲割腕自尽，不料，却气死了卫父，卫家大乱！秋桃被赶出了卫家，邂逅大夫方岩。也就在当晚，方岩之妻林紫淑因故被婆婆开除，惊动了整个医院。林紫淑倍感有失脸面，大骂婆婆金娣不过就是个副院长，居然拿媳妇开刀，杀鸡给猴看，婆媳大战骤然拉开……。老奎（陈强 饰）和儿子二子（陈佩斯 饰）在深圳闯荡一番后，回到了北京。见多识广的父子俩决定在北京创业，老奎倾尽积蓄开办了一家卡拉OK厅，并请来他们在车站结识的来京闯荡的小歌手小依（傅艺伟 饰）。卡拉OK厅生意火爆，父子俩渐渐有了钱。二子爱上了小依，小依一方面和二子约会，一方面又傍着老奎给她买这买那，另一方面又和另外一个台湾大款纠葛不清，周旋在三个男人中间……。
